A brief trip in spring to two very interesting parks, declared "World Heritage" by UNESCO

TALAMPAYA
The access to the Talampaya National Park is located to the north-east of a section of National Route # 76 in the Province of La Rioja. Its surface is 2300 km2 and its climate is very warm with a very low record of annual rainfall. The most impressive geological formations are on both sides of a canyon on the dry bed of the Talampaya River. In the place there are remains of archeological inscriptions of settlers who occupied that region around a thousand years ago.
Upon entering the Park, the car is parked (and with prior reservation) a few buses with a driver and a guide are boarded and a tour with several stops that lasts a little less than four hours begins. Everything is well organized and the itinerary has the exact time to be able to get a good impression of this fantastic area of Argentina.
We use the hotel “Posta El Chiflón” as a base, which is about 70 km before reaching the entrance to the Park.

ISCHIGUALASTO
The Ischigualasto Provincial Park is located to the north of National Route # 150 in the Province of San Juan and extends to the border with the Province of La Rioja. Its surface is 630 km2 and its climate is the same as the neighbouring Talampaya Park. Its landscape has a very interesting conformation that is produced by the constant action of the wind on the compacted sandstone blocks. A large number of fossil remains from the Triassic Period of an estimated age of 200 million years have been found in that area.
Upon arrival at the Park, caravans of about 15 vehicles are organized and a circuit of about 45 km begins, with a guide who explains the highlights of each stop. At one of the stops there is a small museum where the activity of paleontologists is shown.
